My name is JJ and I am an aspiring novelist, foodie, and a self-proclaimed literary, visual, and performing arts enthusiast. As someone who has always been "down with art" I am finally making the effort to start blogging about my artistic adventures, specifically my art adventures in Atlanta, GA this summer. This blog is intended to create an open forum to highlight, review, comment, and discuss all that is going down with art everywhere.
However, considering my fairly new wet feet, and all the seeming endless resources for viewing and engaging art, this blog will (hopefully) gradually meet these ambitious expectations. But for the time being, this blog will begin with weekly posts regarding literature, art, culture, and anything that is both beautiful and inspiring for your and my creative musing.
Now let's get down to it...
I will jump start everything by sharing a few of my favorites. The following pictures, quotes, titles, and links do not solely represent my aesthetic, for I try to be open and accept whatever falls before me as it comes. They are more so a potpourri of things that have had an enduring effect on me and what I am currently into. Enjoy.
* Untitled art by Salvador Dali, circa 1937
* “Art is something out of the ordinary commenting on the ordinary.” ― Camille Paglia
* "The Flamethrowers", Rachel Kushner. Below is a link to a portfolio curated by Kushner featured in the Paris Review, Winter 2013 issue
I could actually go on for quite some time, but sadly, I must depart. I hope the above has at least cracked, if not opened the door to reveal what it is I am looking to do. Until next time, I bid you adieu.
